Fossils from the Future

2023

Stones—washed by oceans, fallen from mountains—meet fragments of the now: cables, plastics, devices, gestures. Merged through algorithmic vision, they form uncanny relics of a world yet to come.

These are not just images. They are speculative sediments—composites of memory and matter, where nature and technology fossilize together. A posthuman geology. A media archaeology of things that never were, but might still be found.

The project was presented at the international photography seminar Meeting Photography ’23 in Nida, as part of a screening program. I also delivered a presentation there entitled Contexts of Generated Images: From the Collective Imagination and Ontological Turn to the Individual as the Centre of Value and Perspective.
